indirect Indirect questions and the passive subjunctive

How would you translate: "He asked if the the city had been captured?"

Quaerit num civitatem captum esse?

Quaerit num civitatem captum esse?

Here I am using an accusative (captum) plus infinitive (esse).

Am I right?
